Access to Market and Training
Platform for Sustainable Growth and Economic Opportunity
At BreakTech, we have created a platform that supports local markets and community-supported agriculture initiatives in Uganda. In the bid to create robust market opportunities for our farmers, we have been able to create Market Access for local farmers through:
- Establishing direct market linkages between farmers and consumers, retailers and exporters.
- Enhancing Access to Market Information such as pricing, demand trends, e-commerce training and industry best practices.
- Developing Cooperative Structures where we pool resources, share knowledge, and negotiate better terms with buyers on behalf of our farmers.
- Identifying and promoting export markets for Uganda’s agricultural products, as well as aiding compliance with international standards and certifications.
- Building Strategic Collaborations and partnerships between government, NGOs, and the private sector to develop programs and policies that support farmer access to both local and international markets.
Agriculture is a vital pillar of our economy, with farmers playing a crucial role in feeding our nation and contributing to overall growth and development.
Our Export Market Readiness Program provides comprehensive training to farmers, enabling them to capitalize on international market opportunities. Through hands-on training and expert guidance, we cover essential topics such as:
- Crop selection, management, and pest control.
- Export regulations and standards.
- Good Agricultural Practices (GAP) and quality control.
- Export regulations and compliance with local and international standards, such as MAAIF requirements, HACCP, EU regulations, and the Middle East market requirements.
- Post-harvest handling and logistics.
- Market trends and demand.
- Encouraging and assisting farmers to obtain necessary certifications, such as Organic certifications and GAP.
By bridging the knowledge gap, we prepare farmers to produce competitive, export-ready products, connecting them to global markets and unlocking new revenue streams.
